Accessing our services during the coronavirus pandemic

We are living through truly extraordinary times with the coronavirus pandemic disrupting all aspects of our lives, none more so than those suffering the effects directly in their families.

Like you, The Co-op Credit Union has had to make some significant changes to how we operate in order to be able to continue to support you with our services while not putting ourselves, our community or you, our members, at unnecessary risk.

Whatever happens, throughout this crisis we will continue to make every effort to provide you with the professional and responsive service which you have come to expect as a valued member.  Sometimes, this may take longer than usual, but rest assured we are doing all we can.

In order to accommodate the urgent home working which the government advice demands of us as a responsible business, from Monday 23 March, we will make the following changes to how you access our services:

  • Our office in Angel Square, Manchester will be closed to walk-in member enquiries until further notice

  • We will stop our telephone service and divert all calls to a voicemail inbox. If you leave a message clearly stating your full name, membership number, contact telephone number and the nature of your query we will get back to you as soon as we can. The contact number remains 0345 602 3554.

  • Email – the primary contact email address will change to: credit.union@co-operativecreditunion.coop Emails to the old address (credit.union@coop.co.uk) will be automatically forwarded.  We will service these enquiries as normal.

  • Online access – our online banking service will continue to function as normal.  All withdrawal requests made before 15.30 on a working day will be processed the same day and you can check balances, change bank details and send us a secure message. Click here to register or login

  • Nivo – Our new secure messaging app, Nivo is a secure and convenient way to apply for loans, and enquire about any aspect of your account.  Click here to find out more and download the app.

Finally, we understand that the measures that we are all being asked to take in order to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the coronavirus are not without consequences.  The school closures and self-isolation policies mean that working your normal hours might not be possible.

As a member of The Co-op Credit Union you are not alone.  If you need help with your finances as a result of the crisis, we are on your side.  Don’t bury your head in the sand, please do talk to us.

With very best wishes

All at The Co-op Credit Union
