As Co-operatives fortnight launches today, the Co-op Credit Union is proud to be a part of it by celebrating our co-op difference.
Co-operatives Fortnight, which runs from 23 June to 7 July 2018 is a chance to celebrate the difference co-operatives make to people’s lives right around the world. You can find out more and get involved on the Co-operatives Fortnight website: https://www.uk.coop/fortnight
Of course, as a co-operative business ourselves, we’re firm believers in the difference co-ops can make, and we’re proud to shout about our co-op difference. So, as part of the celebrations, we’ve produced a short video (above) to celebrate the achievements of the credit union, and to give our members a chance to talk about why the credit union is special to them.
As Nick Croft, president of the National Members’ Council says:
“I’m a huge believer in the power and value of credit unions. The Co-op Credit Union is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and in those 2 decades has lent 30 million pounds to our colleagues, members and their families, it’s an extraordinary accomplishment for this organisation. I’m so proud of it. It’s an organisation owned by its members, it’s a co-op. It’s not answerable to shareholders, it doesn’t pay out a profit to anybody other than its members. It has that co-op difference absolutely in its heart and in its core”.
