Thursday 15 October 2020 is International Credit Union Day. A day that has been celebrated each October since 1948. And this year’s theme, Inspiring Hope for a Global Community, couldn’t be more fitting in a time of fear and uncertainty.
For us at The Co-op Credit Union, it has been a year of highs and lows. While we have struggled to cope with working from home, home schooling, separation from family and tragic bereavements, we have also seen tremendous growth and outperformed our plan; supporting more and more members manage the unforeseen costs of the Covid crisis.
The pandemic, by its very definition, is global. It’s everywhere. But just like our credit union friends abroad, who grapple like us with the impact of this terrible new virus, we take great comfort from reflecting on how our way of doing business – financially supporting local communities and workplaces around the world – is a source of support to our family, friends and colleagues. We ensure that whatever they have to contend with, their money is taken care of.
Whatever you might be saving for, and whenever you need to borrow, you can always count on your credit union to be on your side.
