Who can join?

Membership of The Co-op Credit Union is open to employees and pensioners of a wide range of co-operative organisations, as well as members of a number of co-ops, including Co-op Food Store members. See the full eligibility list further below.

Not eligible yet?

Don’t worry! – anyone can join The Co-op Food online, making them then eligible for Co-op Credit Union membership. Joining The Co-op Food Membership scheme costs £1, and you can earn rewards for you and your community.

(Note -we are a separate organisation to The Co-op Food, so you’ll need to join the Credit Union once you have your Co-op Food membership number).

You can join The Co-op Credit Union if you are employed by:

The Co-op Group, Southern Co-operative Society, Mid Counties, Radstock Co-operative Society, Heart of England Co-operative Society, Tamworth Co-operative Society, East of England Co-operative Society, Scotmid Co-operative Society, The Association of British Credit Unions Ltd, Co-operatives UK, The Co-operative Academy, The Co-operative College, Unity Trust Bank, The Co-operative Bank, The Phone Co-op, Central England Co-operative, The Co-operative Academies Trust, The Co-operative Party, The Charities Aid Foundation, FC United of Manchester, Lincolnshire Co-operative Society, The Co-operative News, The Woodcraft Folk, SUMA Wholefoods, Unicorn Grocery Manchester, 2 Sisters Food Group.

Also, pensioners of an employer listed above.

Family members of employees can also join provided that they are living at the same address and over the age of 18
